Sydney set for a waving welcome

Wesley Mission is inviting the people of Sydney to join in the celebrations of Palm Sunday by joining its procession and open air service on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Circular Quay from 1.40 pm.

Join Jesus as he rides his donkey around Circular Quay towards the Sydney Opera House as hundreds of palm waving faithful follow his path along the harbour foreshore to re-enact Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

The procession swings past cafes and tourists as it makes its way back to First Fleet Park.

After arriving at First Fleet Park, the Superintendent of Wesley Mission the Rev. Dr Keith Garner will explore the significance of Palm Sunday and its relevance for today during an open air service.

The procession begins at 1.40 pm near the corner of Phillip and Alfred Streets, Circular Quay and proceeds towards the boundary of the Sydney Opera House and then returns along the Quay front to First Fleet Park. People begin assembling from 1 pm.
