Sean Penn is an Oscar-winning actor known for his humanitarian work. This year, he starred in The Gunman, out now on Blu-ray, DVD and the like. Penn plays a former government operative whose painful past in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), comes back to haunt him.

Given The Gunman stars Sean Penn AND is set against one of the world’s most volatile and destructive nations (DRC), is it a thought-provoking action film?
