What do we do when someone is ‘different’?

On the big and small screen right now, several high-profile productions focus on differences. From physical disabilities to being accepted within a separate culture, there is a lot of difference going on in pop culture.

Scriptwriter Mark Hadley and film reviewer Ben McEachen have dedicated this week’s Big Picture reviews and lists to this trend of differences. Click here to listen to the full podcast or watch the videos below. Here’s why you will want to watch: Ben explains how Me Before You devalues the lives of people with disabilities; and Mark outlines why ABC TV series Cleverman is, um, a clever challenge to prejudice, fear and social division.
