More Details:

The people of north-west Sydney will be able to join with a chorus of voices and choirs on Saturday 17 December when Wesley Mission hosts Carols in the Valley.

Carols in the Valley will be a wonderful opportunity for families and individuals of the region to come together at Christmas to not only sing traditional Christmas carols but enjoy entertainment provided by local performers and hear former The Voice contestant, Jhoanna Aguila. Sausage sizzle, giveaways and on-stage fun will also feature.

The event is set down for Wesley Vision Valley, 7 Vision Valley Rd, Arcadia beginning at 2.30 pm and ending at 8.30 pm with buses on hand to transport people to and from the event from nearby Arcadia oval.

The event will be hosted by the Hope 103.2 FM breakfast team, Laura and Duncan. Hope FM will also be promoting the event on air and online in the lead up to the event.

The event will be supported by a number of local businesses, including the Rural Fire Service and local Rotary clubs.

“Wesley Mission is making this an enjoyable and memorable community event, giving families of north-west Sydney the opportunity to attend a Christmas carols event without having to travel long distances with young children,” said Wesley Mission CEO the Rev Dr Keith Garner.

Activities begin at 2.30 pm with a water slide, flying fox rides, canoeing, archery, an inflatable obstacle course, jumping castle and a petting zoo accessible via gold coin donation. Picnic hampers and other food will be available for sale. The event will end with a visit by Santa, who will arrive by a ride-on lawn mower.

The event aims to raise funds for Wesley Mission’s Operation Hope program at Wesley Vision Valley. Wesley Operation Hope began in 1992 as a bold initiative to give disadvantaged children a break from their everyday life and offer them a week of encouragement, support and care.

Over the years Wesley Operation Hope has transformed the lives of hundreds of children who have flourished through the experience of spending a week away in a positive, supportive environment. The program has now evolved to work alongside these young people for an extended period of time to provide support and direction, allowing them to be more successful in their teenage and early adulthood years.
