More Details:

Witness the suffering of Jesus Christ at Wesley Mission’s drama, Journey to the Cross procession and service, beginning at Martin Place and moving along Pitt Street to Wesley Mission.

Jesus, unjustly accused by the very people he came to save, submits to punishment and death at the hands of the most fearsome militia of his time. His friends, frightened and confused, linger among the crowds. Why doesn’t Jesus try and defend himself? What can they do?

Join us as we journey through a moving re-enactment of the events leading up to the Crucifixion. The Martin Place Amphitheatre will stage a contemporary drama of Christ’s last supper with his disciples, the garden at Gethsemane and the trial before Pontius Pilate. As we proceed up Pitt Street, we will continue to reflect on the tremendous sacrifice Jesus made for us on that Friday as we follow Jesus carrying the cross.

The procession ends outside Wesley Mission with a revelation of Easter hope. You are invited to then share with us in our Good Friday Service in the Wesley Theatre.
