David Shoebridge, MLC and Dawn Walker, MLC, spokesperson on Indigenous Affairs for The Greens invite you to a special screening of In My Own Words followed by a Q&A with Professor Jack Beetson and filmmaker Erica Glynn. 

In My Own Words follows a group of Aboriginal adults from Brewarrina over a number of weeks, as they participate in a Literacy for Life program, learning to read and write for the first time.  It’s an inspiring and heartwarming film that shows what is possible through lifting literacy and the positive benefits of community led development.
