The common good

The common good

The second forum on The Common Good will take place on Sunday July 29, 2 – 4.30 pm at Willoughby Uniting Church, 10 Clanwilliam Street, Chatswood.

The March 4 forum was well received and led to the participants being interviewed on ABC National Radio. The July 29 forum promises to be equally strong.

George Browning (the former Anglican bishop of Canberra and Goulburn), Andrew Murray (a leading Catholic philosopher and theologian) and Stephen Leeder (a central figure in the Australian public health scene) are the speakers.

Jill Robertson, well known in Wellspring circles, is the chairperson.

The afternoon will begin with conversation, person to person among the audience, on how they see the afternoon’s topic: “Common Good/Common Sense”.  Is it as simple as that in Australia today?

The main idea behind the forums and the national Collaroy Gathering of Wellspring on April 4-8, 2013, is to raise awareness of the common good as fundamental to the health of modern society and to voice the Christian understanding of the values of “community” or “koinonia” as relevant and essential today.

RSVP Jim Tulip 4758 8104.
