NSW Treasurer: life, faith and politics

NSW Treasurer: life, faith and politics

The NSW Treasurer Mike Baird will be interviewed in relation to his faith and life at Wesley Mission’s 2013 Easter Breakfast on Wednesday, March 27.

While the Treasurer had a long and distinguished career in banking prior to being elected to the state seat of Manly in 2007, his Christian faith has always played a defining and guiding role in his life.

The Superintendent of Wesley Mission, the Rev. Dr Keith Garner, will interview the Treasurer about a public life of banking and politics but also one of significant Christian faith which has been integral to Mr Baird’s journey.

Dr Garner will also deliver a keynote address reflecting upon the year’s events and the relevance of Easter’s message.

The Easter Breakfast, which attracts some of Sydney’s leading business and community leaders, is part of Wesley Mission’s Easter Mission which begins on Palm Sunday and runs until Easter Sunday with more than 60 worship services and many other events.

“Easter Breakfast is part of a long tradition at Wesley Mission, bringing together members of the business community, Wesley Mission’s congregation members, staff and volunteers to share in a meal and reflect upon the hope of the risen Christ for our lives,” Dr Garner said.

The Easter Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 7.15 am, at the Smith Room, Wesley Mission, 220 Pitt Street, Sydney.

The host will be Mr Mark Scott, Honorary Treasurer, Wesley Mission, and ABC Managing Director.
