Moderator of NSW/ACT Synod to open Wesley Fair

There is no church fundraising event in Australia that has enjoyed the longevity that Wesley Fair (originally known as the Spring Fair) has experienced. The fair is now in its 103rd year and has raised many millions of dollars for Wesley programs and services.

Wesley Fair is being held on Thursday 3 November at the Wesley Centre, 220 Pitt St Sydney. It will have a wonderful range of homemade treats, arts and crafts, new and second hand clothes, CDs, videos, designer clothing, jewelry, and home wares. Special auctions will be held during the day.

The event runs from 9.30 am until 4 pm.

Wesley School for Seniors members will be singing and dancing through the day with performances at 11 am and 1 pm.

All funds raised will support Wesley Take Charge Of Your Life – a program helping young people to successfully transition out of care by enabling them to move to independence in a stable, secure environment and find meaningful employment.

The Rev. Myung Hwa Park the Moderator of The Uniting Church in Australia Synod of New South Wales and the ACT will open the colourful event at the Pitt Street entrance to Wesley Mission (220 Pitt Street) at 9.30 am.

Dr Garner said the Fair has always brought colour, fun, and energy into the CBD.

“It’s an opportunity to find some real treasures while helping Wesley Mission assist young people in need in NSW,” he said.

Early commuters and shoppers can pick up a scrumptious bacon and egg roll at the Pitt St entrance to Wesley Mission from 7.30 am.
