What you need to know this week
God asked Nicolas Cage to get Bin Laden
True story: about six years ago, an American man visited Pakistan, armed with a sword and a message he claimed God had given him. The message? Kill Osama Bin Laden. Such an outlandish story was always going to be turned into a movie … and Army of One is on its way. Starring Oscar winner Nicolas Cage, Army of One is a tongue-in-cheek telling of Gary Faulkner’s divine mission to hunt Bin Laden. Believe it or not, controversial comedian Russell Brand is playing God.

Be part of the Justice Conference
Part of a global network, the Justice Conference will return to Melbourne on October 21 and 22. International and national experts will provoke and challenge delegates around a central theme: “What if Christians truly lived out the message of Jesus and transformed their communities through their love and the practice of authentic justice?”
Christian in Pakistan faces death penalty

Poor and Christian, Asia Bibi was sentenced to death in 2010 after being convicted of insulting the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Bibi’s case was heard this week by Pakistan’s supreme court. Her family has been in hiding for the past few years and Bibi’s husband told The Guardian that if she is acquitted, it still will be impossible for them to return to their previous life.
