
Weave us Together: Cross-cultural gathering
Bishop Daniel Thiagarajah will be the visiting speaker and Bible study leader at a cross-cultural gathering, North Parramatta, November 4-6.
The other special guest will be the Rev. Dr Brian Brown, Moderator of the Uniting Church Synod of New South Wales and the ACT.
Bishop Thiagarajah, a committed Christian, a biblical scholar and outstanding speaker, was born in northern Sri Lanka and answered a call to ministry as a young man in his early twenties.
He undertook theological studies in India and the USA and was awarded a PhD in 1995 for his research into New Testament studies.
He has been a serving minister of the Jaffna Diocese of the Church of South India in various parishes amid extremely trying conditions over the past 30 years.
The event will be held Friday November 4 to Sunday November 6 at the Centre for Ministry, North Parramatta. Cost: $75 for the whole weekend or $35 per day.
The Bible Studies will be at 7 pm on Friday November 4 and 9.30 am on Saturday November 5. The keynote address will be on Saturday at 7 pm.
