Snowtown
(MA) Madman DVD/BD
Few films will challenge you on as many levels as this chilling yet masterful version of how the infamous “bodies in barrels” murder spree occurred in suburban Adelaidein the 1990s.
Viewers able to stomach Snowtown as a detached observance of deadly sociopath John Bunting (the terrifyingly powerful Daniel Henshall) may reflect upon various disturbing themes, such as children being groomed for evil actions, or the devastating consequences of self-righteous morality.
Others will be enraged or disgusted by acts of incest, rape, murder and verbal abuse, not to mention the precarious question of whether a film about Australia’s worst serial killer even should even be made.
