Rally for National Disability Insurance Scheme
The Rev. Harry Herbert, Executive Director, UnitingCare NSW.ACT, has called for support for a rally to help the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) become a reality.
The Every Australian Counts campaign will host the rally at 12 noon on Monday April 30 at AllPhones Arena, Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park.
The NDIS will make sure people with disabilities get the essential care, support, therapy, equipment and early intervention they need.
The biggest barrier for people with a disability is that they have to fight for everything they need.
Mr Herbert said, “The status quo cannot continue. Now is the time for decision makers and political leaders to act and provide Australians with a disability the same opportunities in life, many of us take for granted. We need a National Disability Insurance Scheme.”
Staff from UnitingCare will meet at 11:30 am, Light Tower P15, Olympic Boulevard, before proceeding to the rally.
Access is available by public transport to Olympic Park train station, Park St bus stop and paid parking on-site.
