Easter Sunrise Service broadcast live on Channel 9

As the sun rises over Sydney this Easter Sunday hundreds of voices will fill the Sydney Opera House and resonate across the Harbour.

Wesley Mission’s Easter Sunrise Service at the Sydney Opera House will draw Christian worshippers from across Sydney as the service has done at various city venues for more than 50 years.

The iconic Sydney landmark, however, has become the stage and backdrop for one of Sydney’s signature Easter events.

For those who cannot make the service, Channel 9 will broadcast the worship event live from 6 am.

Singer Daniel Kay will add his powerful voice to the morning chorus and also perform a number of solo songs. He will be joined by the Wesley Impact TV band and special guests.

Viewers will also hear from Wesley Mission family carer support and youth workers and see stories of hope from the frontline of Wesley Mission’s work.

Wesley Mission Superintendent the Rev. Dr Keith Garner will speak about Easter as a New Dawn in our lives and how the resurrection speaks into our emptiness and despair.

It will be an hour of uplifting Christian television that will touch the lives of tens of thousands of Australians.

Prior to the concert at 5.30 am Channel 9 will also broadcast Wesley Impact! TV, showcasing a range of interesting guests and entertainers complete with a relevant message of contemporary Christian faith.

Wesley Mission will host a series of powerful Easter events, re-enactments and more than 25 worship services during Holy Week 2012.
