
Musical communion
A diverse range of musical contributions featured during the communion service on Sunday April 14 at the meeting of the Synod of New South Wales and the ACT at Knox Grammar School, Wahroonga.
These included children from Auburn Uniting Church, the Rev. Salesi Faupula playing conch, the choir of the Uniting Church Ashfield Tonga Parish, a song by the President of the Uniting Church in Australia, the Rev. Professor Andrew Dutney, the Maile Ua Band, One Heart and Quakers Hill Filipino youth bands, the call to worship by Miss Effie Nkrumah, the Doxology led by the General Secretary of the Synod of New South Wales and the ACT, the Rev. Dr Andrew Williams and choir and peace music by an Indonesian group.
The service ended with a rousing rendition of Handel’s Hallelujah chorus, which received enthusiastic applause.
