At the annual Australasian Religious Press Association (ARPA) Awards, held on 7 September, former Editor and Director of Uniting Creative, Marjorie Lewis-Jones, and Media Officer, Stephen Webb, were awarded the highest honour – The Gutenberg Award – for services to religious communications and 20 years involvement with the production of Insights.

“The president’s citation commended us for our two decades editing Insights magazine in print and online, training and mentoring aspiring journalists and using our communication skills to raise funds for needy causes”, said Ms Lewis-Jones on winning the award.

ARPA is an ecumenical Christian communication network for Australian and New Zealand publications and their editors, journalists, designers and contributors, and the Gutenberg is its premier award for achievement.

The former Insights team also received a bronze award for Best Feature by Multiple Authors for the June 2012 Insights feature “Disaster response: How to help not hinder”.
