Superintendent’s address is sermon of the month on international preachers’ website

An address by Wesley Mission Superintendent the Rev. Dr Keith Garner has been chosen as the Sermon of the Month on the internationally acclaimed preachers’ website, The Sermon.

Dr Garner is the only Australian to be selected for this honour.

His incisive and passionate sermon is about the story of the lost son – but with a fresh perspective: it is really a story of two lost boys, one in a faraway country and the other at home.

Both need forgiveness and it is only a compassionate father who can deal with their two distinct failings.

The Sermon web site is a crucible containing some of the best sermons in the world. It aims to preach Christ crucified and to share the inspirations and insights of the globe’s greatest preachers.

It draws upon leading evangelicals from a variety of nations. It is overseen by the Rev Richard Brewes, rector of All Souls Langham Place and a leading English evangelical whose Christian service extends to the Billy Graham Association and African Enterprise.

“We are firm in our belief that preaching will never die. Naturally it cannot be our own thoughts that will change a single life for the better,” the Rev. Richard Brewes says.

“It is the God-inspired Scriptures that must set the agenda — and so transform preacher and listener alike.”
