I Will See You in Heaven
Friar Jack Wintz , Paraclete Press
If I think of it as a small gift book and not as a theological book about our relationship with animals, then I can overlook some of the odd remarks concerning the type of souls animals have, or the odd juxtaposition of comments in his chapter on Noah.
Wintz concludes with the vision of a new heaven and a new earth (Isaiah 11:6) and asserts: “I have come to believe, ‘Yes, with heartfelt thanks to God’s saving love for the whole family of creation, I will see my dog in heaven.’”
I can say “Amen” to that, and overlook the parts of the book which irritated me!
