More Details:
Join us as we re-enact Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. The procession starts in Phillip Street Circular Quay, moves along the harbour foreshore and loops back to Phillip Street.
Jesus, having raised his friend Lazarus from the dead, enters the gate of Jerusalem to the sound of cheering crowds. In the background, religious leaders of the day mutter suspiciously to one another about his influence on the people. Onlookers wonder what it is all about.
Bring the whole family along to take part in this community event as we re-create this dynamic day of contrasts. Following the ‘King of Israel’, riding humbly on a donkey, we will wave palm branches as we walk around the foreshore of Circular Quay towards the Opera House and back to Phillip Street.
It all starts at 1 pm where Phillip Street meets Circular Quay, with the procession concluding with a time of celebration and singing.
