Pastoral and spiritual care is shifting. Ethics in ministry is heading towards the ever changing, new look landscape of pastoral practice. It brings with it accountability, responsibility and competency. How do we as pastoral practitioners walk towards this new horizon when what we have always known is shifting? We need to look at new ways to offer pastoral and spiritual care to all people irrespective of their religious belief or whether they are of no belief. The Pastoral Strength conference will explore the issues surrounding this constant shift in education, ethics and how to successfully care for the marginalised. Join us for the opportunity to listen to and engage with a diverse range of speakers, and attend some interesting workshops.
Keynote speaker:
Rev Professor John Swinton
John Swinton, an engaging public speaker, is Professor in Practical Theology and Pastoral Care at the University of Aberdeen. He has a background in nursing and healthcare chaplaincy and has published extensively in the areas of practical theology, mental health, spirituality, human well-being and the theology of disability. In addition to speaking at the conference, John will also be giving a public lecture on Thursday 2 February. The Pastoral Strength conference is an interfaith event, so pastoral practitioners working within multi-faith organisations are very welcome to attend.
