Stations of the Cross Exhibition Northmead
4 Apr 2017 until 16 Apr 2017
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Northmead Uniting Church are working cooperatively with the Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School and with the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture in Canberra to host an exhibition of contemporary art focused on the traditional Stations of the Cross.
Join The Moderator on 4 April at 7pm for the exhibition opening.
Each year we invite 16 leading Australian artists to reflect on one each of the traditional stations, and to share their work in what has become, a very special exhibition. This will be the ninth contemporary Stations of the Cross exhibition held at St Ives UC, Northmead CAPAHS and Australian Catholic University. Each year the exhibition becomes stronger and richer for all.
On the weekend days in Northmead we will have explanatory tours at 2pm or by appointment. Similar options will be available in Canberra. You could arrange to bring a group from your church for an evening or a daytime visit and we will offer a guided tour and an opportunity to sit and talk about the works and the responses… and of course, we would offer something to drink during that time.
We will be working to offer a retreat day in both places with a guided time for reflection on the works.
This is a great opportunity for all of the church and we hope you might be enriched by being able to use this opportunity.
Come as an individual or as a group.
