More Details:

songwrite is a national gathering of songwriters from across the Uniting Church in Australia and beyond.

It’s an exciting opportunity to encourage the writing of new worship songs for congregations and faith communities. Built into the weekend is the chance to develop, write, score and record and present one’s new worship song.

songwrite is about gathering together as safe, supportive Christian creative-arts community. This means gathering together not only songwriters, but also experienced musicians, mentors, coaches, thinkers and tech-minded people.

Linking in with the 13th Assembly theme of Life Overflowing, Uniting Church President, the  Rev. Professor Andrew Dutney (musician and songwriter himself), will be the guest theologian and thinker.

Long-renowned South Australian Robin Mann will be songwriter-in-residence.

Full songwrite details along with registration form can be accessed from the songwrite website.

To make songwrite as accessible as possible for songwriters across Australia, subsidies are available on request to assist with weekend costs. Costs for all attending include a $20 nonrefundable registration deposit plus $160 toward weekend catering, tech and admin costs.

All meals excepting breakfasts are provided in this. Participants have the accommodation options of billeting or making their own arrangements. Upon registration, further accommodation and transport information will be provided.

Interested folk are also encouraged to gain funding subsidy from their congregation/agency/faith community and presbytery.
