Invited guests include all Pacific Island Nation faith leaders and congregations from all Christian denominations in the Riverina. Program:
- A prayer service for the Pacific Islanders who have passed away or been injured while working in Australia as seasonal workers.
- A presentation from the Salvation Army on:
o how to identify criminal exploitation;
o the rights of farm workers to remedy for injuries from workplace accidents;
o the rights of farm workers to remedy underpayments and stolen wages;
o access and pathways to justice for victims of exploitation. - Individual confidential case assessment.
As faiths united to end modern slavery, it is a Christian duty to raise our voices for justice for those who are suffering.
Dinner provided.
