Wesley Mission invites you to a special anniversary celebration to mark 200 years of the arrival of the first Methodist missionary Samuel Leigh to Australia and reflect on his faith, missionary work and what we can learn from his momentous contribution to the Uniting Church in Australia. This event provides an opportunity to reflect on this significant event in the history of the Uniting Church and the remarkable legacy Samuel Leigh has left for us today in our community and shared passion for God.
The celebration will be led by Rev Keith V Garner with special music presented by St Stephen’s, Macquarie Street and Ashfield Tongan Parish Choirs.
Inspired by this celebration, you will want to learn more. Copies of the new book by Keith Garner, Samuel Leigh–The first Methodist missionary to Australia and New Zealand will be available to purchase after the service.
