Who needs to do the training? – All ministry leaders (including ministers and pastors) in church-run programs/events with direct contact with children or other vulnerable people (ie those who are required to hold a working with children check), as well as representatives from the pastoral and practical oversight of each congregation.
For a Church Council, this means that at least some members must be Safe Church trained. Safe Church Contact Persons also undergo training to support them in their role.
Those only needing the refresher can finish at lunch time.
