More Details:

On November 6, the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice, people around the world will be protesting during the COP26 climate summit to demand that their leaders act decisively to prevent catastrophic global warming.

Uniting Climate Action Network (UCAN) as a group of Uniting Church members passionate about environmental justice are endorsing the COP26 Sydney Protest because as Christians, we believe that we are called to care for Creation, and to love those neighbours who will be hardest hit by climate change

Meet at the steps of
Pitt St Uniting Church (264 Pitt St, Sydney NSW 2000)
11:30am

Both Christian Students Uniting (CSU) and Australian Religious Response to Climate Change (ARRCC) will also be meeting there.

You can contact Mikali for any queries: mikali.anagnostis@gmail.com.  Please only come if double vaxxed and wear your black Uniting Church t-shirt!

The protest will call on Scott Morrison to commit to:

  • 100% publicly owned renewable energy by 2030 – No new fossil fuels, no false solutions, no to Scomo’s gas-led recovery
  • Just transition plan now! Funding for Climate Jobs, retraining, public services, and liveable welfare.
  • Global solidarity with First Nations – Indigenous-led land management, jobs on country, Santos off Gamilaraay land
  • Climate jobs not nuclear subs – no to the AUKUS deal – no shift to nuclear power.
