More Details:

From Monday 12 – Friday 16 November, United Theological College, will host a five day ‘Intensive’ study of Creation & Ecology.

This is the third delivery of this course and has fast become a popular area of interest and study at UTC.

Rather than a full semester of study – the Monday to Friday intensive course provides students with the opportunity to engage with the connections between ecology and faith, with like-minded colleagues and friends.

This subject, reflecting on God as creator of heaven and earth, explores critical questions about the church’s ecological responsibilities in today’s changing world.

After the success of the 2014 & 2016 intensives, the course is back once again and delivered by the passionate and knowledgeable Reverend Dr Jason John.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Amongst the key learning outcomes of this subject are that you should:

  • be able to reflect theologically on ecological challenges facing the world
  • be able to critically examine biblical texts and the Christian tradition in the light of these challenges
  • be able to discuss the critical and constructive contribution of science to the theology of creation and vice versa
  • show understanding that sustainable living is a human responsibility as stewards of God’s creation
