PocketLight NIV

If you have a mobile device like a PDA or high-end phone that runs Windows programs, then this is the Bible program for you.

I recently tested it out at a church camp and was impressed with how easy it was to use. I was able to keep up with the quoted Bible verses, even beating those around me with their Bibles-in-a-book.

You can scroll through books of the Bible chapter by chapter and I found searching for verses by phrase to work well.

It can search within either the Old or New Testaments.

I loved the puzzle game: words of a popular Bible verse jumbled up and I had to put them back in order.

Working though the features, I successfully attached bookmarks and notes to specific verses and chapters but was disappointed I could not find the “highlight with a colour” feature.

Although PocketLight NIV is efficient, it doesn’t replace flipping through the Bible and the relationship that develops between you and a well-thumbed Word of God.

Having said that, if you forgot to bring your Bible to home group or church or want to find a verse at work or on the bus, PocketLight would be very handy.
