NAIDOC WEEK, 6-13 July

NAIDOC WEEK, 6-13 July

NAIDOC Week  is  held  every  year  as  an  opportunity  for  us  all, Aboriginal  and non-aboriginal, to  celebrate the First Peoples of Australia. There are  many  resources  available  on  both  the  Assembly  and  the  NAIDOC websites www.assembly.uca.org.au  and www.naidoc.org.au to use to celebrate this week in your churches. Let  us  each  make  this  week  a  time  in  which  we  all  take  steps  along  the  pathway  towards  truly  having  “A  DESTINY  TOGETHER”.

Recently, General Secretary Rev. Dr Andrew Williams met  Adam Goodes Australian of the Year at an event at Wayside Chapel to launch Recognise Campaign which recognises the constitutional recognition of First Peoples. See https://www.recognise.org.au/?action_code=%27success%27 and https://www.thewaysidechapel.com/we-want-recognition.php for more information about this initiative.
