This is a collaborative project between NewRiver Leadership and UME NSWUCA.

Want to grow your leadership capacities and personal potential?

We are always hearing about the “special “ qualities leaders need to have.  Yet every day all sorts of people contribute to real change, large and small. No one has everything but everyone has something to contribute to the challenges we face.  It is liberating to talk about exercising leadership  – seeing it as a contribution rather than a designated role.

Whether or not we hold positions of responsibility, we can all exercise leadership to make a positive difference.

New River Leadership is running two Intensives this year. The program is an opportunity to grow your leadership capacities and personal potential in a  supportive and challenging environment.

2015 Dates for Next Intensives:

Sydney Second Intensive

Thurs 17 September / Fri 18 September

Thurs 15th October / Fri 16th October

Thurs 12 November / Fri 13 November

Learning Objectives include:

  • Explorations of different models of leadership relevant to church and community life
  • Equipping others to grow their leadership strengths
  • Reflections on personal foundations and their importance when exercising leadership in times of challenge or difficulty
  • Developing leadership practices that are sustainable as well as effective.

Comments from previous participants

“Learned a lot should have done this at the theological college.  Like the reading material”

“A time to stop, listen, reflect, identify and embed valuable opportunities to grow in what I do for a living”

“An emotional and reflective journey  – recognizing the strengths I have and setting goals the I want to achieve.  Acknowledging that I am a leader (it’s what I am not just what I do)”

“An enriching opportunity to learn in a way that brought my whole self in to that experience.  Holistic and deep learning about some critical aspects of how I function in the world and with people.”

“Invaluable to explore and reflect on leadership ideas and my own journey on it.  Stretching in a good way”

“An encouraging and reflective thought provoking course about leadership including practical application and considered information sharing with individual, small and large group activities “

I would encourage you to consider participation for yourself, UCA congregation members  or others you are working with in your community
